Jan Taylor
Sessional Professor of Drama
Jan Taylor (BA, MA) is a freelance educator, singer, actor, playwright, director and producer in the Edmonton performing arts scene. She has extensive teaching credits at community and educational facilities, as a private voice teacher and as a post-secondary theatre studies instructor for Red Deer College and the University of Alberta. Jan has been a theatre director for many years, has written a number of plays, particularly for young audiences, and has just recently been appointed Artistic Director of Kompany Dance and Affiliated Artists Society. For the last two summers Jan has also been an assistant director for the Canadian Badlands Passion Play. Jan also can be found performing on Edmonton stages, most notably as a chorus member of Edmonton Opera.
