I am a teacher. I believe that teaching is a call to redemptive service. I have been privileged to teach in Alberta, China, Japan and the United States.

For the last 17 years, I have been a teacher educator, someone who works with teachers and other education professionals. I helped teachers create smaller learning communities in Chicago public schools. I helped beginning teachers explore their beliefs about education and worked with veteran educators to hone skills in Fresno, California. Now, at King’s, I am part of a team dedicated to helping new teachers integrate faith and teaching.

I am blessed with a wonderful partner, Lorie, and wonderful children, Rachel and Joshua. Lorie helps me slow down and enjoy beauty around me (including her art work). Rachel and Joshua help me learn about creatures (including lizards and snakes), environmental stewardship, and popular culture. As a family, we are involved in peace and social justice action.
