| PONOKA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Ponoka Christian School, a small interdenominational Christian school located in Central Alberta (one hour south of Edmonton) is accepting applications for the 2010/2011 school year. Applicants should be committed Christians with experience in and/or commitment to Christian education. Positions available: • Grade 8/9 2010-2011 classroom teacher. Teaching duties include Science, Math, Language Arts, Bible. The ability to teach French would be a bonus. This position is currently a 50% position with the possibility of becoming a full time position. • Kindergarten teacher: We are looking for a half time kindergarten teacher for 2010-2011. Deadline for above applications is 12:00 pm, April 23, 2010. • Grade 4/5 teacher, .5 (half time). This opening is for a one year maternity leave that starts September 1, 2010. This position will be shared with the school's principal. Closing date for resume, cover letter, and statement of faith for this position is Wednesday, April 28, 2010. |

High School IT Teacher / Coordinator 2010 - 2011 Bulkley Valley Christian School is located in Smithers, in the heart of the beautiful Bulkley Valley. It is a well established interdenominational school of 260 students in two campuses: Elementary (preK–7), Secondary (8-12). Bulkley Valley Christian School will have an opening for a qualified teacher who can take responsibility for the instructional components and the coordination of our Information Technology program. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian education, the ability to work well in a collaborative setting, an understanding of the unique needs of high school students, and the ability to articulate the importance of the use of information technology in the development of the Christian cultural mandate. This person will have background in the areas of desktop publishing; digital editing of images, sound, and video; and some web design and business applications. The successful candidate will have a small role in the IT support needs at the high school campus. Background in Windows networking and the Mac platform will be an asset. This position commences August 2010. It is a 60% position in regards to the Information Technology program with the possibility of additional hours in any other subject area. The successful applicant must hold, or be eligible for, a valid BC Teaching Certificate and meet the requirements of the BVCS Employment Contract.
