Taking Care of Creation
The ENVS program combines a major in Environmental Studies with a concentration in one area within either the Social Sciences (B.A.), the Humanities (B.A.) or the Natural Sciences (B.Sc.). Disciplines range from biology, business administration, chemistry, English, philosophy, sociology, social sciences, to theology. This disciplinary base provides detailed knowledge and skills in a concentrated area. Interdisciplinary prospective and approaches are adopted in all Environmental Studies courses and projects.
In keeping with the Mission Statement of the University College, the ENVS faculty and staff are committed to:
- developing an understanding of stewardship from a Christian perspective;
- teaching students how the natural world works;
- providing undergraduates with a breadth and quality of relevant courses and lab work to understand how humans are impacting and managing the environment;
- providing opportunities for students to engage in research, with hands on experience in the work force.
