When considering Pre-Professional studies, it is important to understand King’s does not offer Professional Programs (other than the Bachelor of Education After Degree). We offer transfer opportunities into professional programs. This ranges from select course transfers (minimum) to a full undergraduate degree for admission (maximum) to another university. The advantage of taking Pre-Professional studies at King's is learning in a faith-based community with small class sizes, dealing with personable, helpful professors and creating a foundation for continuing study at another university.

After completing the requirements for the pre-profession program at King’s you can apply to the professional program at one of the following Canadian universities.

Medicine at: University of Alberta
• All applicants to the MD Program must be registered in or have completed a degree program.
• The minimum requirement for admission to our program is the successful completion of at least two full years of full-time university work (60 units of course weight - 10 full course equivalents) of which one year (30 units of course weight - 5 full course equivalents) must be taken during one academic year. (An academic year is September 1 to April 30 inclusive).
• MCAT results
• Personal attributes and reference letters
• Interview
• Prerequisite courses to be included in the 60 units of course weight are:
General Chemistry (may include Inorganic Chemistry), Organic Chemistry, Biology (may include Microbiology, Zoology, Genetics, Botany, Physiology, Bacteriology, Immunology, Entomology), Physics, English, Statistics and Biochemistry

Medicine at: University of Calgary
Faculty of Medicine – Medical Doctor Program
- Student must be a Canadian citizen or Landed Immigrant to be eligible to apply
- Requires two years of full time University education
- These courses are highly recommended for admission purposes:
Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, English, Physics and Physiology, either Psychology, Sociology or Anthropology, either Calculus or Statistics
- Minimum GPA of 3.20 our of 4.00 for Albertans and 3.60 out of 4.00 for non-Albertans
- Requires MCAT results
- Other information (interview, letter of reference, etc.)

King’s can offer the 60 credits required for acceptance into Doctor of Medicine at U of A or U of C. The specific required courses should be researched in advance to ensure transfer-ability. King’s recommends finishing a 4-year Bachelor of Science to prepare for the Doctor of Medicine Program.

In deciding to pursue a career in Medicine, it should be noted. The acceptance into any of the previously mentioned Universities is contingent upon successfully completing some undergraduate study. Generally, the more education a person has, the more successful their acceptance is. Although the some universities may only require 60 credits, it is very strongly recommended a student completes a Bachelor’s degree before applying – specifically a 4-year Bachelor of Science. Thus, unless you are Albert Einstein, be prepared by having enough education when applying into medical school.
