Kevin Poissant is the Head Coach of the Eagles Men's Soccer team, a position he has held since 2003.  His wife Zana and he are the proud parents of daughter Amélie and son Elliott.

Kevin received his post-secondary schooling at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Education, and worked with Edmonton Public Schools as a Physical Education Teacher and Curriculum Coordinator until leaving for a new career in Marketing Management. His coaching certification includes a B License and NCCP Level III; as a player, he competed at the Post-Secondary and Alberta Major League level, and continues to enjoy representing Edmonton Scottish in the Masters Major League.

During Coach Poissant's tenure, the King's Men's Soccer program has grown into a highly competitive squad which has placed players on ACAC All-Conference Teams. In his first season, he received the 2003 - 04 ACAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year, and was again selected as Coach of the Year by his peers in 2009-10.  He is gratified to see so many alumni continue to support the team, and is pleased to watch his student-athletes grow into mature men with successful careers.

His cooperative coaching philosophy is athlete-centered - he looks to provide ethical leadership within an environment of trust and pushes his athletes to train honestly, play fair and strive for success. He wants his student-athletes to achieve academic and athletic excellence; make informed decisions and take personal responsibility; subscribe to dedication and industriousness; believe that competition will help the individual and the team maximize their potential; and always seek to grow in their personal, professional and spiritual lives.

In addition to his ACAC coaching experience, Kevin has twice served as an Alberta Soccer Association Select Boys' Team Head Coach; has been employed as Course Conductor for the A.S.A.; sat as Technical Director for the Edmonton Strikers Soccer Club; provided guest clinician training for several elite teams and soccer academies; qualified two female youth teams for the CSA National Club Championships; helped to develop over 20 CSA National Training Centre players, including six who have represented the country in international competitions; was Head Coach of the Edmonton Drillers CMISL Indoor Team; continues to serve as the Head Coach of the Edmonton Scottish Alberta Major League men's squad; and is the Technical Director of Scottish United Soccer Club.

King's is excited at the future of soccer at the University College, and wishes Kevin the best as he continues to build the Eagles Men's Program.
