Transfer Students

If you are transferring credits from another Alberta post-secondary institution...

you can check the Alberta Transfer Guide for a rough idea of which courses will transfer to King's.  Don't panic if nothing comes up though!  That just means we haven't transferred that particular course before, so it's not yet in the system.

If you are transferring from out of province (or out of the country) you will likely need to provide a syllabus for each course you wish to transfer.  This may apply for some Alberta transfers as well.

A few things to bear in mind when applying for transfer credit:

  • A maximum of 60 credits (two years of full-time study) may be transferred into a Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce or Music degree.
  • A maximum of 9 credits may be transferred to the Bachelor of Education after-degree.
  • Each course must have a grade of at least C- in your major, and at least a D in other areas.

Once you have applied and had your transcripts sent to us we can do an official assessment of the transcripts and tell you exactly what courses you've taken will be counted as which courses here at King's.

See the Transfer Credit section of the Academic Calendar for a more detailed description of how course transfers work.
