Scholarships and Financial Aid 2011-12

Scholarships, bursaries and awards have one thing in common: they're all free money! The main difference between them is the criteria that are used to select who receives them.

  • A scholarship is primarily based on academic achievement, but may also take into consideration career intent, community involvement, co-curricular activities, and/or financial need.
  • A bursary has financial need as its main criterion; career intent and/or community involvement may also be considered.
  • An award can be based on volunteerism, leadership, academic or athletic achievement, or any combination thereof and does not always have a monetary value.

Did you know?

Each year King's students receive over $400,000 in the form of scholarships, bursaries and awards.

Most of the financial aid provided through King's must be applied for. The competition for 2010-2011 Scholarships and Financial Aid has closed.

The application for 2011-2012 scholarships and awards will be available in January 2011 either online or in the Financial Aid Office.

King's does offer some scholarships that are automatic: for example our admission scholarships for first year students, and first-year education after-degree students.

For a complete listing of the scholarships and financial aid offered to King's students, see the Scholarships and Financial Aid Information Package or the Academic Calendar. The application for scholarships and financial aid is released in January of each year and is due by March 31. Students must have received at least initial acceptance in order to be considered for scholarships and financial aid.
