Reserve Collection Information
The Reserve Collection is located at the Circulation Desk in the Library. The purpose of this collection is to provide access to materials required or essential to a course. The loan periods vary, the most common is 2 hours. Overnight loan periods (on designated material only) are from 1 hour before the library closes to when the library next opens. This collection does not include course textbooks.
Faculty put the items on Reserve, and items are filed by course.
Any material owned by King’s Library may be placed on Reserve. Items owned by other libraries may not be placed on Reserve. Photocopies of specific materials can be placed on Reserve if compliant with the Access Copyright Agreement. (Contact Central Services if unsure)
Personal copies of books, periodicals or media are sometimes put on Reserve by Faculty. Please know that the library will affix a barcode, and spine label onto the item. The library is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Reserve Request
When the material is brought to the library, fill in a Reserve Request form and leave it at the Circulation Desk. The Library staff will try to have it available within 24 hours. PLEASE DO NOT ANNOUNCE RESERVE READINGS AS AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY UNTIL YOU HAVE BROUGHT THE MATERIAL AND FILLED OUT THE FORM!!
Reserves are removed at the end of the time requested and returned to the faculty mailboxes, unless other arrangements have been made. If you have a lot of material on Reserve please come to the library to pick it up!
