How to Read the Bible For All It’s Worth. Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart. (Zondervan, 1993). A step by step guide for how to interpret scripture.
How to Read the Bible Book by Book. Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart. (Zondervan, 2002). This book gives a short overview of every book of the Bible, including a brief summary of the content, the author and date written, and a basic outline.
A Long Obedience in the Same Direction. Eugene Peterson. (InterVarsity Press, 2000). Peterson uses the Psalms of Ascents to look at “Discipleship in an Instant Society.” Topics include repentance, worship, service, joy, hope, community, and more.
Celebration of Discipline. Richard Foster. (Harper, 1998). This book is a study of 12 spiritual disciplines. Foster explains each discipline, where it fits in the Christian life, and gives practical ways to begin practicing it.
Spiritual Leadership. J. Oswald Sanders. (Moody Press, 1994). A look at several aspects of leadership.
