Former director of Basketball Alberta to lead women's program at King's

The King’s University is pleased to announce Brian Anstice as the new Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball team for the 2017-18 season. Brian is passionate about the game of basketball and comes to King’s with a wealth of experience in coaching both basketball and football. He is the founder of Full Court Girls Basketball Camps and has won numerous coaching and community awards in recent years, including Alberta Community Sport Administrator of the Year – Basketball, Pride of Strathcona County Award, Edmonton Youth Basketball Volunteer of the Year, Edmonton Metro High School Division 2 Coach of the Year, and Edmonton Basketball Officials Association’s “Love of the Game” award. Athletics Director Grace Scott says she is excited to have Brian join the coaching staff at King’s and is “looking forward to the contributions that he no doubt will make to the development of our program.”

Brian and his wife, Darlene, have always been active in the basketball community. Through their skill development camps, they have helped over 20 athletes compete at the post-secondary level. Brian has also served as director of Basketball Alberta and Commissioner for Youth Basketball in the Edmonton area. A leader by example, Brian truly loves the game and the process of helping young athletes grow in confidence, character, and leadership
