Stepping onto the court with determination, The King’s University Eagles Men's and Women's Volleyball teams have hit their stride early in the season. With the Women’s team ranking first in the North Division of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), and the Men’s team ranking third, Eagles athletes continue demonstrating skill, athleticism and teamwork.

“I am really impressed with the team’s drive to compete in everything they do. Their work ethic and character on and off the court have been the foundation of their success,” says Patrick Winand, head coach of the Men’s Volleyball team.

Standout performances from many Eagles athletes have them ranked within the top five in the ACAC Conference including: Tracy Ewashkiw, Sammi Lieuwen, Jayden Hiebert, Tanner Piers, Kaiden Aceron, Noah Robertson and Chris Graham. “We have a very skilled and diverse group of players who work extremely hard to make one another better,” explains Women’s head coach, Grace Scott. “I am very impressed with our team’s ability to be consistent, focused and persevere.”

With a record of 7-1 for the Women’s team and 6-2 for the Men’s team, Eagles athletes are working toward continued success throughout the rest of the season. With the goal of moving up in ACAC rankings for the Men’s team, and maintaining their top ACAC ranking and top 3 National Ranking in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) for the Women’s team, Eagles athletes are committed to continue to train hard and compete well with the hopes of securing the opportunity to represent the ACAC at Nationals.

“As with any year, we want to honor God by giving our best effort as we strive towards competing at the highest possible level. Our teams are very grateful for all those who support them behind the scenes and for those who come out and support us by cheering us on, thank you!” says Grace Scott.
