Three King’s music alumni will be beginning graduate studies in music this September. Andrew Blimke (B.Mus. ’16), Josina Leder (B.Mus. ’18), and Elisa Voth (B.Mus. ’18) will be at various schools across North America.

Andrew will begin the master of musicology program at the University of Western Ontario. While at King’s Andrew studied organ. Since graduating, he has been working in the music department at King’s.

Josina will be taking a master of music in piano and pedagogy with an emphasis on injury preventative keyboard technique. These studies will take her to Salem College in North Carolina. “They were really impressed by all the music courses I took at King’s. The program covered a lot more than they were used to,” Josina reflects.

“The breadth of knowledge I received through my program at King’s, and that I’m a more well-rounded person because of it, was very impressive to them,” says Elisa. Her masters will be in piano performance at the University of Alberta.

Both Josina and Elisa returned to King’s to pursue their Performer’s Certificate after their bachelor programs.

“I am thrilled to see our music graduates continue their musical education pursuing graduate music degrees. I have every confidence that the rigorous bachelor of music Christian liberal arts education they received at The King’s University, and their outstanding musical passion and academic excellence, will continue to benefit them in their ongoing studies,” says Dr. Joachim Segger proudly.
