Mar 04, 2016

This Tuesday, The King’s University Eagles Women’s Volleyball team will travel to Charlottetown PEI to represent Edmonton and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association (ACAC) at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships.

The “Eagles” qualified for nationals last week after defeating the SAIT Trojans in the ACAC semi-finals. They join Saskatchewan’s, Briercrest “Clippers” who hold the conference title.

“This is a historic moment for our women’s volleyball program” says head coach Grace Scott, Athletic Director at The King’s University.

“Our team has worked tirelessly throughout the year to get to where we are, recalls 5th year setter and team captain Lauren Jensen. "We're super excited to represent our school at Nationals.”

Also leading the team are assistant captains Becky Statchuck (4th year right side) and Keri Alcorn (4th year left side.)  Alcorn and 3rd year middle Jocelyn Van Ryk, were also selected to the ACAC Championship All Star team.
