Gil has been directing and teaching theatre, film, and television for over 35 years. He directed the feature motion pictures Cor Values, The Zombie Apocalypse in Apartment 14F, Cat's Cradle, Winter Kill, HALO, Unfinished Business & Green EyesAll of Gil’s films have enjoyed global, world-wide distribution and broadcast. Green Eyes was broadcast on The Academic Channel, University of Haifa, Israel's Education in Film Program and on CHUM. Gil was nominated for an AMPIA (Alberta Motion Picture Industry Award) for Best Director for “Where the Dinosaurs Roam...” a TV special. Where the Dinosaurs Roam, was also nominated for Best Picture. Gil was nominated for Best Director a second time (Spring '05) for HALO. In addition to his teaching at King’s, this award-winning director has taught and directed theatre and movie-making at Concordia University Edmonton. He has worked as a director and producer at CFAC, CFRN, ITV/Global, CBC, CKUA, and VIDEON producing thousands of TV commercials. As an actor or theatre director his work has been presented at Stage West, Rice & Shoctor Theatres at the Citadel, Studio Theatre at The University of Alberta, Theatre Passe Muraille, Chinook/Varscona, Loose Moose Theatre Simplex, and Walterdale. He was the founding artistic director of Off the Fence Theatre Society, a Christian faith-based semi-professional theatre company for 18 years. Gil is currently involved with three of Edmonton’s top production facilities and continues to create exciting new works.
