Why did you choose King's? I attended an Open House in my grade 12 year and absolutely fell in love with King’s and the community here. It was such a great and welcoming experience filled with friendly people that I knew King’s would be a great fit for me. I also come from a small town so attending a smaller university made me feel more comfortable about moving to the city.
What are your post-graduate plans? I plan to attend grad school and become a pharmacist.
Favourite beverage from the Level Coffee House: It’s a bit hard picking a favourite, but I do find myself ordering a white mocha most of the time.
Favourite thing to do on campus? Meeting and sitting down at the Level with friends to catch up or study together.
Favourite thing to do off campus? I would say going on walks around the city. There are plenty of trails to explore around Edmonton and I try to go to a different place every time.
What did you wish you knew coming into university? You won’t be completely on your own and there are lots of ways you can reach out for help, whether that’s through other students, or staff and faculty members. They do provide you with plenty of resources, so utilize them as much as you can and take advantage of them.
Advice for new students? Though attending university is a bit nerve wracking, especially if you don’t know anyone, have a positive mind set coming into it. It’s an exciting new chapter in our lives! Be friendly in the hallways and in your classrooms because chances are other students are in the same boat as you. I personally know that having a great group of people around you to get through your university years makes it much more enjoyable. Lastly, if you ever do need help with your academics, even if it’s just a little thing, don’t be afraid to reach out to your professors. They truly do care about your education and want to help you succeed.
