General Program: August 31 - September 1, 2018
2018 Orientation Program TBA!
For an idea of what Orientation involves, take a look at last year's program.
Whether you are a commuter living off campus, moving into residence for the first time, transferring from another school, or a mature student, plan to be at Orientation. No matter who you are, there are breakout sessions tailored just for you.
Friday - Colour Me King's
You had a packed day meeting people, listening to important information, and generally getting oriented to campus life. We think you deserve to end the day by letting your hair down!
At the end of the first day of Orientation around 6 p.m., experience the madness that is Colour Me King's--a huge game where we throw around A LOT of coloured powder! We supply the t-shirt. If you are a commuter, we will make arrangements for you to shower before going home, so bring a change of clothes. Grab a student leader the day of and they can tell you where to store your stuff until the evening.
Saturday - Service Learning Project
Learning extends beyond our classrooms and the university's walls, so every year, as part of orientation, we partner with a local organization to do a service-learning project. This allows us to collaborate with our wider community in an act of service that increases our understanding of a specific issue.
Last year, we partnered with the City of Edmonton's Capital City Clean Up initiative. Stay tuned for more information on the Fall 2018 service learning project!
