Alumni Reading List
In honour of the upcoming Reading Week, we are challenging alumni to pick up a good book, or two, this month. Let’s face it - none of us did much actual reading over this ironically-named break in the winter term but it's never too late!
Alumni Relations has gathered a variety of book recommendations from your favourite professors and King’s staff as part of our Alumni Reading List. Will you accept this challenge as a lifelong learner? Not to worry, no book reports, reflection papers or lit reviews will be assigned. Here’s to a great month of great reads because we all know that reading books is much more fun when it isn’t required by the syllabus!
Here are some suggestions to kick-off #TKUreads 2016:
- John Wood: J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "The Hobbit"
- Will Van Arragon: "The Givenness of Things"by Marilynne Robinson
- Cathy Jol: "Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard" by Chip & Dan Heath
- Heather Looy: Lois McMaster Bujold’s “Curse of Chalion” and “Paladin of Souls”
