Spring & Summer
Take a trip to the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market--with over 130 vendors you'll be sure to find something to enjoy! Make a trip to the Grand Market on 124 St and walk through aisles of vendors and food trucks! Also check out the City Market Downtown (which is indoors at City Hall in the winter) and browse the vendors while listening to talented buskers. Edmonton also hosts a Night Market throughout the summer (late May- August), which runs every Friday evening from 7-11 p.m. With over 10 farmers' markets to choose from, Edmonton has so much to explore!
High Level Bridge Streetcar
Edmonton has the largest fleet of heritage streetcars in Western Canada and operates two routes. It runs from the Strathcona Terminal (Gateway Blvd at 84 Ave.), crosses the North Saskatchewan River, makes a stop at the Alberta Legislature Building, and ends at the Jasper Ave terminal (109 St & 110 St.). The streetcar operates daily from the May-Long Weekend until Labour Day.
Fort Edmonton Park
Step back in time to 1885, 1905, and 1920 by visiting Fort Edmonton Park. Experience what life was like firsthand by walking through the old town and chatting with actors in historical costume. Make sure to take a ride on the train, streetcar, or one of the midway rides!
John Walter Museum
Pop by the John Walter Museum and learn more about the life of John Walter, one of Edmonton’s wealthiest citizens, and see what Edmonton life was like back in the 1800s.
Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village
Make a trip out to the Ukrainian Heritage Village and experience the life of early Ukrainian Settlers. Explore the different historic buildings and learn more about Ukrainian history in Alberta.
Movies in the Square
Every Tuesday evening in August, the city puts out a massive three-storey high inflatable screen in Churchill Square and shows movies for free! Bring your own chair and come early. Check out their website for show times.
City Hall & Churchill Square
Want something to do on a hot summer day? Visit Churchill Square and make a refreshing splash in the giant fountain. Dry off while playing a giant game of chess or show off your ping pong skills. Churchill Square is host to a variety of festivals throughout the year!

Trails: Want a place to run or go for a relaxing stroll off the sidewalks? There are over 150km of river valley trails waiting for you to discover. Don’t want to walk? Check out the different rental options through River Valley Adventure Co, including mountain bikes, Segway’s, and roller-blades!
Paddle: Rent a canoe or kayak and head down the river for a day. Float down the river with a group of friends or even go paddle boarding!

John Janzen Nature Centre
Do you enjoy learning about nature? If so, the John Janzen Nature Centre is the place for you! Visit this Centre to learn more about the nature here in Edmonton and check out engaging exhibits.
Devonian Botanic Garden
If you're ever looking for a nice place to walk, this garden is a great place to start! It's on a 240-acre piece of land and is full of beautiful flowers and scenery. It's 15 minutes outside of Edmonton!
Visit one of Canada’s bison conservatories! Go for a walk, a picnic, or for a camping trip at Elk Island! Enjoy the trees, meadows, lakes, and wetlands and you'll probably get an up-close chance to see the wildlife, like the bison who live there. There are also tours available.
