The Development Services Branch of the Urban Form and Strategic Development Department's Business Ambassador Program provides direct support to Edmonton-based businesses. The Development Services Branch ensures that the City of Edmonton vision of a Healthy City, Urban Places, Regional Prosperity, Climate Resilience city becomes reality by guiding how land is
developed, buildings are constructed, and businesses operate. The Business Ambassador Program will ensure that local businesses are aware of and able to take advantage of the services offered by the City of Edmonton. As a team member of the Business Ambassador Program, you will:
● Conduct in-person visits of businesses located in Edmonton
● Act as a liaison between the City of Edmonton and business owners to assist with the business licensing process
● Ensure that businesses are operating with the correct licences and permits
● Provide information on the business services offered by the City of Edmonton
● Provide direct support for any services, licences, or permits that any business may wish to obtain
● Support the Business Licence and Vehicle for Hire and service delivery of various business licence bylaw services
● Perform related duties as required

Qualifications :
● Currently attending a planning, human geography, general business or related full-time post-secondary degree program
● Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
● Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis with proven attention to detail
● Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution
● Ability to work independently and make decisions in the absence of a supervisor
● Ability to embody the "Helpful & Integrated” Cultural Commitments through experience working as part of a team
● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple elements, limited resources and restricted timelines
● Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a
requirement of this position
● Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
● Knowledge of municipal legislation, including business licensing processes, and customer service standards is considered an asset

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: $19.749 - $25.135 (Hourly)
