Full Time Position
• Disciple of Jesus Christ with strong character, integrity, and a commitment to growing in faith
• A vital commitment to God and an active prayer life
• Understand and be committed to the Reformed perspective on world and life
• Have relevant training and/or experience in youth ministry
• Have a demonstrated ability to build relationships with the youth and their families
• Share and implement a vision for the role of the family in church ministry
• Foster relationship development as a building block for effective ministry
• Ability to lead in the teaching and equipping of others to effectively work with youth and families
• Show an aptitude in supporting other staff and lay people in pastoral care of youth and families
• Become familiar with and capability to follow Safe Church Policy
• Lead the implementation of ministry initiatives that promote Congregational and family life helping church members grow as faithful followers of Christ
• Have a passion for leading youth and developing their spiritual growth
• Support adults and families in deepening their connection to scripture and each other
• Equip young adults with opportunities to deepen their connection with each other and God’s word
• Lead meaningful bible study lessons among youth
• Source appropriate study material for youth and young adults
• Equip and encourage youth leaders
• Coordinate events such as service projects, mission trips, activity nights, retreats, etc.
• Encourage youth that are of high school age and beyond to make public profession of faith and provide educational resources and training in conjunction with the Lead Pastor
• Provide encouragement and pastoral care to individual youth and young adults
• Oversight in the GEMS and Cadets ministry – follow up with youth graduating those ministries and bridge them subsequent youth programs
• Become an active member of Living Hope CRC
• Attend Staff meetings, Congregational meetings and Leadership retreats
• Maintain a willingness to keep up-to-date in his or her ministry skills and participate in at least one personal or professional development opportunity per year
• Comfortable with technology, social media platforms
• Capable of designing and managing budgets for ministries and events
• While fulfilling the objectives of his or her role, this position will work in cooperation with other staff, council members, ministry leaders, and volunteers
• This position reports directly to the lead pastor, keeping him up-to-date regarding opportunities and concerns within the youth and family ministries
• This position will keep the Church Council aware of his/her work, providing leadership in keeping with the overall vision and mission established by Council
• Remuneration for full time position
• Vacation: Three weeks paid vacation per annum
• Church will provide office space and equipment as needed
• Allowance for professional development
• Position and Ministry Evaluation will take place annually
