Faculty of Social Science

The Faculty of Social Sciences works to better understand the social elements of our lives. Why do people listen to certain types of music? How does our government work? How do we pattern thought? How does geography impact the way we live?  Faculty focus on answering these questions and many more, looking at these topics through a Christian perspective.

We deliver top quality programs in the Social Sciences (interdisciplinary degree), Psychology, Sociology, Politics-History-Economics (interdisciplinary degree), and Environmental Studies, as well as minors in several disciplines, including Physical Education. We also offer pre-professional studies in Criminology, Journalism, Law, and Social Work, among others.

In our pursuit of Christian Higher Education, we strive to provide superior teaching and conduct serviceable research, which uncover the deep structural architecture and contending spiritual roots of problems. We want our programs to provide serviceable insight into the pressing needs of our times—including seeking justice, freedom, and peace; encouraging respect for life; building social well-being, cohesion and solidarity; caring for and defending the integrity of creation; tackling poverty and hunger; and equitable and just treatment of plurality.
