Reza Naimi, B.A. Sociology
I chose Sociology because I am interested in understanding social life and the ways in which people interact with each other. As a social being, I am always fascinated by the way our socialization quantifies within our everyday interactions and the ways we learn the means to interact from our socialization. I’m interested in the significance of our daily interactions with others and the ways our social experiences shape and cultivate our relationships.
"I believe Sociology 495 has really changed my life and allowed me to answer my own questions and plan for my future."
My favourite course so far has been the senior seminar, Sociology 495, which looks at the common ground and interdisciplinary relationships between distinct social science disciplines, and how we can situate ourselves in the world as individuals. This course has helped me engage with the perspectives and skills I have developed throughout my degree. To be able to reflect on them and understand my own everyday social interactions can pave the way for great societal change in my own life. I believe Sociology 495 has really changed my life and allowed me to answer my own questions and plan for my future.
I chose King’s because it is so welcoming, and doesn’t treat students like a number, like many larger universities. Getting to meet new people has been my favourite part of being a student here. I really enjoy talking to students and faculty members.
