You can authorize a monthly donation through your bank account via automatic bank withdrawal or credit card (VISA or MasterCard).

Gifts in Kind

A gift in kind is a donation of tangible property instead of cash. Securities, real estate, and other types of property and products make excellent ways to fund a charitable gift. Qualified appraisals and final approval from the university are typically required prior to accepting most types of gifts in kind.

A gift-in-kind can include anything from objects to business interests. Providing King’s can accept the gift, donors may be eligible to receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift.

Gifts of land, homes, business property, or other real estate can also be donated to King’s. By making a gift of real estate, donors may avoid some capital gains tax on certain types of property such as a principle residence or farm land.

Appreciated Securities

Gifts of securities include publicly traded securities, stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. By donating stocks or securities directly to The King’s University, you avoid being taxed on the capital gain and receive the added benefit of a tax receipt for the fair market value.

If you intend to make a gift to King’s and have appreciated shares, you can receive greater benefit by donating the shares directly as opposed to selling them and making a cash gift. Review King's gifts of appreciated securities pdf for more information.
