Orange Shirt Day T-Shirt Sale

This year our Orange Shirt sale features a design by King’s graduate Tirza Lanza (2023), and all proceeds will be donated to the Native Healing Centre in Edmonton. Please wear your Orange Shirts on campus during the week to remember and honour residential school students and survivors and to open the door to conversations about the residential school system.  Orange Shirts can be purchased in-person at the table by the cafeteria on September 25-29. Bannock will also be available for sale.

Ceremony of Remembering and Celebration

Truth and Reconciliation Bench

Local Cree elder Russell Auger will lead the King’s community in an outdoor ceremony to prayerfully recognize the tragic shared history of the land for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, the resilience of Indigenous peoples, and the ways that all of us may help build a more hopeful and just common future.  Elder Russell will then move our ceremony to N218, to formally celebrate the opening of King’s Indigenous gathering space for staff and students.
