Allyship in an age of appropriation Public Lecture

Dec 04, 2023

Join us on Tuesday, December 5th in N102 for Cheryl Whiskeyjack's public lecture "Allyship in an age of appropriation". The lecture is free and open to all King's students.

How does one demonstrate allyship in an age of appropriation, pretendians, and social polarization?

I am constantly approached by regular people who want to do Reconciliation better but don’t know where to begin or how to support their Indigenous neighbours. Consequently, there can be a reluctance to say or do anything! Feelings of uncertainty around Reconciliation are often further compounded when we recognize that the Indigenous community is at various states of wellness, healing, and suffering. I will share stories from my travels in Treaty 6 and extend an invitation to share and explore, more.
