9-month Contract

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the King’s University is seeking a full-time instructor in Sociology for the 2024-2025 academic year. The instructor will teach 3 courses each semester and will assist the department of sociology with administrative tasks and student advising.  The ideal candidate will have the capability to teach a wide variety of Sociology courses. The courses listed in the attached document are subject to change dependent on the needs of the department.

Under the direction of the Dean of Students and led by the Coordinator of Wellness and Counselling Services/Lead Psychologist regarding professional practice and therapeutic work, the part-time Counselling Psychologist provides current students with short-term counselling and referrals to community supports (e.g., medical, psychiatry, and counselling). The Counselling Psychologist may also be involved with mental health outreach, preventative action, in-service training and assistance for crisis response, and consultation services to students and other members of the university community.   

This is a contract position serving 4-15 hours a week September through April, pending agreed-upon Counselling Team schedule.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences at the King’s University is seeking a sessional lab instructor in Biology for the winter term of the 2024 - 25 academic year. 8-week summer position

As a member of a conference services team, you will be required to:

• Communicate with clients about contract agreements.
• Attend weekly team meetings.
• Organize hospitality related logistics including room bookings, cleaning, and setup.
• Process catering service requests for events.
• Work on new catering initiatives.
• Deliver excellent customer service and implement hospitality best practices.
• Implement and review customer feedback assessments to measure success and satisfaction.
• Analyze space utilization and determine efficiencies to maximize capacity.
• Creating marketing material and a social media presence.
• Assist in all areas of conference services as needs arise

The Social Media Specialist generates buzz and excitement for the products, services, and brands of The King’s University. The position takes a lead role in developing King’s content calendar and producing the bulk of the content required for the university’s main social accounts. 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the successful candidate will excel in producing share-worthy content that is visually appealing and effective in generating word-of-mouth attention on social media. The position is particularly concerned with cultivating online engagement that supports student recruitment, institutional brand awareness, and university fundraising. In addition to developing value-added experiences for users on King’s corporate accounts, the Social Media Specialist serves as an in-house resource and strategist for affiliated accounts such as: admissions, current students, Eagles Athletics, alumni relations, Micah Centre for Justice and Development, and others.

• Reporting to the Executive Assistant, the duties of this position will be to review and make appropriate decisions for all historical paper files and other related materials along with reviewing electronic files of The King’s University.
• Tasks will include appropriate destruction of files, purging files, re-boxing files, scanning, naming and saving PDFs of files, organizing files on SharePoint and preparing master lists of files and records, etc.
• Providing reception coverage in the Office of President as required.
• Other administrative office tasks as required.
• Majority of this work will be done while working alone in the Gerry Segger Archive Centre located off the library on campus.
• Need to be able to lift, move and sort boxes of files.

18-month Temporary Position

The Development Data and Administration Specialist oversees operations of Development information systems and office administration. These duties include Database Administration: overseeing day-to-day maintenance of the contact relationship management software (currently, The Raiser’s Edge); developing and implementing standards and training; provide assistance to the Development Administrative Assistant; and Development Department Administration: organizing regular department meetings, website content administration, direct mail appeals administration, and event planning.
