Love Yourself! Mental Health Awareness Week

Nov 18, 2016

Hey students! Did you know that you're super important?

It's currently Mental Health Awareness Week here at King's and we like to ensure that our students know that they're loved! Mental health isn't something we shy away from and our Mental Health Awareness Week is just one of the ways we get the discussion rolling about how we can take care of ourselves and support others. Below are some tips to help combat stress and keep yourself healthy as the exam season begins!

Stay Hydrated and Exercise!

Drinking lots of water is not only great for you physically, but also mentally. It's important to stay hydrated to keep you feeling refreshed and ready to take on any challenge that comes your way. Exercising regularly also boosts your energy levels, improves your mood, and relieves you of stress!

Get Some Rest!

You should get at least 8 hours of sleep at night to ensure you're feeling well rested and have plenty of energy.

Clean and Organized!

Keeping your work space clean and organized allows you to stay focused on the task at hand and keeps you motivated to do your work to the best of your ability.

Think Positive!

If you're in a stressful situation, try to take a step back. Looking at a hard decision or stressful time in your life from a different perspective can make a world of difference in how you handle things.

Indulge!

It's ok to relax sometimes! Take time each day to do something that you enjoy. Whether it's going for a walk, meeting with a friend for coffee, or watching an episode of your favorite show on Netflix, it's ok for you to take a break from the demands of life.

These are just a few ways to take care of yourself. If you start practicing these tips and create healthy patterns now, you'll be in great shape to handle university next year!
