The King's University Students' Association

The King's University Students' Association (TKUSA) is the non-profit student government on campus. Elected executives foster culture by providing services, hosting special events, and building relationships within the university and externally. TKUSA also owns an operates Level Coffee House on campus.

Events

TKUSA hosts a wide variety of events throughout the school year. From holiday events to Battle of the Bands, laid back Thursday Nights in The Level to semester kick-off events,  there's something for everyone.

Clubs and Student Groups

Sign up to be part of a club, or create one yourself. The Students' Association supports 20+ clubs on campus in a given year and you can explore all of them at the annual club fair held each September.

Choose from sports clubs like ping pong, cricket, or hip hop dance; program-focused clubs in philosophy, scribes, psychology etc.; gaming clubs such as board games and Super Smash Bros; or performance-based clubs in improv, music, or swing dancing.

You can also join one of our three student action groups; SPEAK (Sexuality, Pride, Education and Awareness at King's), Black Students’ Association, and the Micah Action and Awareness social justice group.

TKUSA also funds three larger student societies; the Education Students' Association, Leder Business Association, and King's Science Society.

The Pantry

Managed by TKUSA, The Pantry provides meals, snacks, and other essential products to students in need of urgent assistance. The Pantry partners with local business, churches, The King's University, and a team volunteers to raise funds, run food and bottle drives, and ensure that the basic needs of every student are met.

Health Care Plan

When you register as a full-time student, you are automatically enrolled in our Health Care Plan that is managed through TKUSA. Health insurance can be a bit complicated, but TKUSA has all the resources to make it simple and walk you through the process.

Already have healthcare coverage under a separate plan? Not to worry, unlike many student healthcare plans, it's quick and easy to opt-out if you already have coverage.

Student Advocacy

TKUSA elected representatives serve on a variety of external and internal organizations. TKUSA are members of the Canadian Association of Students’ Associations (CASA), Alberta Student Executive Council (ASEC) and Edmonton Student Alliance (ESA). At King's, TKUSA members attend meetings of the Board of Governors, Senate, General Faculties Council, and President’s Council.
