Be Kind to Yourself this October

Oct 13, 2016

Midterms? Papers? Deadlines looming?

In every university, October can equal stress.  Add social gatherings such as Thanksgiving and the usual jobs and other obligations and it can all get overwhelming. It's time to take a break.  Here are a couple fun things happening around the city this month.

Commuter Geographical Meet and Greets: Join your commuters in a fun filled, relaxing evening of fellowship! Find more information on the King's Commuter Program Facebook page.

  • October 19th - North area hosted by Zayal.
  • October 21st - West area hosted by Dominic and Suwadhi.

King's Hockey Night: Experience community and an overall fun evening at the new stadium, Rogers Place, while experiencing a riveting Hockey game between your very own Edmonton OilKings and the Calgary Hitmen. Attend with your peers as King's has block seating on October 28th.  Go to the alumni page of, scroll down and you click the link for tickets.

The Edmonton Corn Maze: Visit the Edmonton Corn Maze just outside of Spruce Grove for some fresh air and engaging fun!

Fort Edmonton Park: Visit one of the many 'Halloween' themed events that Fort Edmonton Park has to offer including the Classic Horror Double Feature on October 20, Spooktacular running October 21 - 22 and many more!

Our city has many exciting events to offer.  Running low on cash?  No fear.  A simple walk around the River Valley in the beauty of fall can help take your mind off of the stress of school!

So, remember to give yourself breaks and keep your mind refreshed!

Happy October and happy studying!
