Music After-Degree Diplomas and Certificate

The Department of Music trains students for excellence in a supportive and encouraging environment to develop a deeper understanding of music and its role in society. Frequent performance opportunities exist through the weekly repertoire classes, lunch hour concerts, chapels, and concerts throughout the year. Smaller student numbers allow for regular discussions, exchange of ideas, student presentations, and analyses.

Church Music Diploma

This diploma provides basic training for students who want to acquire skills on the organ and in choral conducting. It can be completed during or after a student's music degree, or on its own. Students are given a background in music with classes in choral conducting, organ, music history, aural skills, tonal harmony, and more.

Performer's Certificate and Artist's Diploma

These programs are performance directed. Students must have completed an undergraduate degree (B.A. Music or B.Mus.) and show outstanding potential for a career in performance. In contrast to a masters degree in an applied performance field, the performer's certificate and artist's diploma are less academically directed (e.g. research papers, academic courses) and focus on the applied skills and repertoire that will enable students to mature as professionals in the field of performance. For students whose strength is in performance rather than advanced academic study, these programs are a crucial bridge to a professional career.
