Programs and Events

Helping commuter students to thrive during their time at King's is the purpose of the commuter program. The programs and events are designed to give students the opportunity to make connections and build friendships with one another.

Regular programs
The commuter team looks forward to getting to know students at any of the following events:

Drop-in Bible study

Led by campus minister, Tim Wood.
Join residence students and CPA Zayal Sirdar, as students learn and grow together.

Wednesday chill commuter supper
Want to try out a new recipe on your friends? Cook & eat on campus together every Wednesday with
CPAs Dominic Wong and Tayla Haswell.

Time: Wednesday at 5.00 pm
Location: 6:01 in the Tower Residence 

Last day lounge
Join CPAs Courtney Streu and Suwadhi Pathmanathan for Friday treats and chats.

Time: 12:00 noon
Location: 6:01 in the tower residence 

Meet and greet breakfast
A free commuter meet and greet breakfast takes place on the first Wednesday of each month. Come down to the North Academic Building and connect with fellow commuters.

Time: the first Wednesday of every month from 7:30am to 9:30am
Location: The North Academic Building

As well as the regular programs listed above, the commuter program also runs monthly events such as:

  • Coffee drop-ins
  • Sock and warm clothes drives for those who are homeless.
  • Pie day
  • Chocolate Fountain Mingle

6:01 lounge
6:01 is a community lounge space located in the tower residence. It is equipped with a full kitchen, dinning space, fire place, and comfortable seating. The lounge is often booked by student leaders to house a variety of commuter programs.

How do you access 6:01?
To access any of the scheduled programs, use the phone located to the left of the tower entrance and call 8886. It is possible to also ask any of the student life staff to let you in.

6:01 is not an open space, but is used for events and programs.
