Looking to become a better singer? King's Community Chorus is open to anyone interested in choral music. The Community Chorus is a great way to develop and improve your choral techniques in a larger ensemble setting. Basic vocal technique are covered, and members will acquire or develop sight-reading and listening skills.
The chorus prepares and performs both accompanied and a cappella music from throughout the centuries. Repertoire includes a plenty of different styles and traditions and occasionally, in languages other than English.
Sometimes a deeper understanding of the music is helpful to understanding how it should be sung. In these cases we'll spend just a couple minutes imagining the history in which the piece was written and digging into the composition and lyrical choices of the artist.
This ensemble rehearses once a week and performs jointly with The King's University Concert and Chamber Choirs during multiple occasions throughout the year.
No previous choral experience is necessary and no formal audition is required.
