Our Goods vs. My Interests

Sep 15, 2022

(Fall 2022)

How do we go about having conversations that matter? It's easy to be dismissive of other's opinions if we don't agree with their politics but this can be destructive and make us feel that we have to prove ourselves right instead of looking for answers together. A university can be a great place to engage in debate if we listen to each other well. We invite the campus community to this conference which will help us engage in collective moral conversations, in university and beyond.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Jonathan Chaplin is an associate fellow at the British public-theology think tank Theos, adjunct faculty at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto, ON, and serves as a member of the Divinity Faculty of Cambridge University (UK). Conference themes will be drawn from Dr. Chaplin's 2021 book “Faith in Democracy: Framing a Politics of Deep Diversity”.
