Leadership Quality Standard Certificate

The Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) certificate prepares teachers looking to enter school leadership roles such as principal and assistant principal with the necessary competencies for success. Topics include fostering effective relationships,  embodying visionary leadership, leading a learning community, and more. Participants will also develop skills for managing school operations and resources, and responding to societal contexts.

Teachers in this online program (two 3-credit courses) will learn to lead sustainably and according to how students and school personnel might flourish as individuals, a community, in society, and in relation to the natural world.

The Leadership Quality Standard (LQS) certificate fulfils the Government of Alberta's requirement for educators looking to explore careers as principals and assistant principals at public, Catholic, charter, or independent schools.
