SSCI 399 - A Place to Belong: Exploring Justice, Land, and Place
In SSCI 399 students will explore what it means to belong to the land during this unique week-long 3-credit interdisciplinary course at Lady Flower Gardens, in the kisiskâciwanisîpiy (North Saskatchewan River) valley just outside of Edmonton. Over the course of 5 ½ days, students will hear from Indigenous knowledge keepers, ecologists, farmers, community activists, economists, writers, painters, politicians, and more as they learn about the land beneath their feet and their role as those who belong to and steward the land.
