Looking Forward: How to keep your New Year’s Resolutions

Dec 28, 2018

Hello friends!

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas! As you continue to enjoy your break, you’re probably starting to look forward as the year comes to an end, and you’re beginning to make some brand new resolutions for 2019. Sometimes I find that I make resolutions and then find it difficult to keep up with them. If you’re the same, don’t worry because this blog is going to highlight ways you can try to keep up with your New Year’s Resolutions. We can work through this together!

Start Small.
A good way to ease into the New Year is to start off by making small resolutions that you know you can accomplish. For example, I always made a resolution to drink 3 full glasses of water a day. That was too hard for me so maybe I should change it to completing only 1 glass of water a day and build from that.

Treat Yourself.
Reward yourself each time you complete your resolution or, even if you don’t complete your resolution, reward yourself for trying or coming close to it. The important thing to get out of treating yourself is that you remember to love yourself even if you didn’t meet your goals. Don’t beat yourself up because that will only push you back.

Be in Charge.
You are in control of the resolutions you make. You make these resolutions for yourself. Make them count because these foster growth; they build character, they develop who you are. If you don’t like the way your resolution is going, change. Be the change you wish to see.

Support.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to ask for help when you need it. Or maybe help yourself by setting up reminders. Support yourself and support others who are in the same situation as you. Surrounding ourselves with support can help us get into a proper routine.

Reflect
If something hasn’t worked out for you, ask yourself why. Maybe you need to do some alterations or make a brand new resolution. Always reflect because reflecting helps you focus on what is important.

To all my friends who are making New Year’s Resolutions for themselves, never give up. You set these up for yourself because you want to grow mentally, spiritually and emotionally. 2019 is going to be good to you, if you are good to yourself first. Let’s work through these resolutions, together.

Yours Truly,

Bianca
