Business Case Competition

Everyone is invited to join us as five teams of business students present their business plans in our annual internal case competition. Teams have been preparing their recommendations on the topic "Putting the “Eh” in Pend Oreille,
attracting Canadian visitors to Pend Oreille Shores Resort.

Each team has 15 minutes to present followed by a times of questions and answers. The winners will be announced at 3.

 

Family Violence Awareness Speaker - "Let's Get Real"

There are many taboo topics in the Church and one we rarely hear about is domestic violence.

Hear Roy Mitton, the executive director and co-founder of Masquerade Ministries, talk about the complexity of this culturally pervasive issue and what the Christian faith has to say about it.

This event is an opportunity to learn about what family violence really is and the undertones that are locked away behind closed doors. Come find answers and ask questions you may never have thought to ask before about family violence.

"Of the Children" Choral Concert
Time: 7:30 pm
Location: West End Christian Reformed Church (10015-149 Street)

The King’s University choirs, conducted by Dr. Melanie Turgeon, with guests Edmonton Christian High School Choir, and Edmonton Christian Northeast Grade 7 Choir, invite you to their upcoming concert: “. . . of the Children."

This diverse program includes music brought together under the common theme of "children"; music written for children, about children, by children, and even a couple purely childish and entertaining tunes.

The concert will also feature King's Music Faculty: Dr. Marnie Giesbrecht (organ), Irene Buttrey (piano), Elizabeth Raycroft (soprano), and Jihwan Cho (baritone).  Tickets are available at the door, in the King's Bookstore (780) 465-8306, or EventBrite.

Tickets: $20/adults; $15/seniors, alumni, and non-King’s students; $5/children under 12; King’s students free with ID.

Former AFN Chief Phil Fontaine will guide us on how to have conversations of hope within an understanding of reconciliation for our times. Opening Reception for 'Along the Road to Freedom'

Join us for the opening program and reception of 'Along the Road to Freedom' in the Atrium.

The exhibit features 26 paintings by Winnipeg artist Ray Dirks honouring women who brought their children out of the Soviet Union to lives of peace and freedom in Canada and Paraguay.

For the program, Pastor Tim Wiebe-Neufeld will share the story of his great-grandmother Maria (in the painting above). There will be a choral presentation of Mennonite Hymns directed by Harold Wiens, and special guest Linda Duncan MP Edmonton Strathcona will be in attendance. Donations are accepted.

The exhibition closes January 30, 2018.
