Biography

Ki-Yong completed his Ph.D. in Exercise Medicine and Rehabilitation at Yonsei University in South Korea, where he also earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees. He moved to Canada to pursue postdoctoral research and has studied Exercise Oncology at the University of Alberta for over eight years, serving as both a postdoctoral fellow and a research associate. His research focuses on the physiological and psychological effects of exercise/physical activity in individuals with cancer, with the goal of improving health outcomes through tailored exercise interventions. Ki-Yong specializes in teaching exercise physiology, exercise prescription, training and conditioning, and martial arts. Outside of work, he enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and cherishes spending time with his lovely wife and daughter.
