Identity

The only Christian liberal arts university in Northern Alberta, The King’s University offers accredited degree programs in arts, sciences, music, business, and an after-degree in education. King’s seeks to inspire and equip learners to bring renewal and reconciliation in every walk of life, and to help build a more humane, just, and sustainable world. The university is home to the Micah Centre, the Leder School of Business, and the King’s Centre for Visualization in Science.

King’s is known for its welcoming community and consistently ranks at the top of national surveys of Canadian universities for student satisfaction with quality of teaching and connection with faculty, student sense of belonging, and student intellectual engagement. All degree programs are accredited by the Alberta government’s Ministry of Advanced Education.

The King’s University is firmly committed to being a faithful institution of Christian higher education, and is committed to academic freedom as well as rigorous scholarship. All King’s degree programs, including the science and professional programs, are taught within a Christian liberal arts interdisciplinary framework. King’s requires employees to affirm a basic statement of Christian faith, while it welcomes a diverse enrolment from students of all faiths. Respect for diversity and inclusivity is part of the culture at King’s.

A King’s university education combines the best of two worlds: a caring Christian community and a top tier university education, with opportunities for students to learn and be directly mentored by faculty who are researchers and scholars.
