Parent Orientation

Do you have questions about your student's upcoming experience at King's? Are you curious about campus culture? Unsure of what to expect as your student begins their university journey? Parent Orientation is designed to answer your questions about King's and your student!

During Fall Orientation, parents of new students are encouraged to attend an orientation program designed to address the types of questions parents have. Learn about the TKUSA Health Benefits Plan, King's integration of faith and learning, commuter and residence life, and attend a round table Q&A session. You also have the opportunity to attend a commissioning service, after which you have time to say goodbye to your student.

Here is the Orientation Program from 2018. Page 3, headed “Parent Sessions: Getting to know King's”, gives you an idea of the program last year. The 2019 program will be posted mid-August.

If you plan to attend Parent Orientation, please notify by emailing Diana Opdebeck as Orientation approaches.

Our Winter Orientation is much smaller in numbers and so we do not have a separate parent track. However, we will have some information available to hand out if you do decide to come along. You can also contact Diana Opdebeck with any questions related to your student’s transition to King’s.

Up to two family members are welcome to attend as guests of the Community Engagement Department.
