Campus Visit FAQs

Scheduling a Visit

Like a proud parent with a wallet full of photos, we love to talk about King’s. We are eager to meet with you and help you discover King’s for yourself. The easiest way to schedule a visit is to check our upcoming events and register online. You can also call our office at 780.465.8334 or 1.800.661.8582 for more information.

How far in advance should we make our plans?

We all love surprises on our birthdays, but when it comes to campus visits, the more notice you give us the better prepared we can be to make sure you get the most out of your time on campus.

A three-day courtesy is appreciated when requesting a personal visit to meet with an Admissions Officer. Most of our scheduled events have a registration cut-off one week prior to the event date. For groups of six or more we request at least two week’s notice. While every effort will be made to accommodate same day or walk-in visits, high volume means we cannot guarantee availability without an appointment.

Requests to sit in on a class or to meet with athletics staff or professors can generally be arranged with at least three days notice.

Please contact Admissions to book your appointment.

When is the best time to visit campus?

King's offers a number of visit events throughout the year with our flagship Open House and Info Night events being offered in the fall and winter respectively. Alternatively, explore King's campus and sit in on classes during a Friday Campus Visit Day or learn about the university, our programs, student experience, and how to become a student here during an Admissions Online Session.

You can also book a personal or group visit custom tailored to your needs, passions and interests.

Purchasing King's Gear

Visit the King's shop website where you can find themed clothing and souvenirs. You also have the option to customize your King's sweater by adding your program name!

Visiting campus during the summer

Our office is open year-round for your convenience. If you are unable to attend one of our scheduled events during the academic year, please contact Admissions to book an appointment or campus tour.

Is housing available for campus guests?

Limited accommodations can be provided on the Thursday night before a Campus Visit. High School students can stay on campus with a current student in our Tower Residence. Our rooms do not come equipped with extra beds so visitors should be prepared to sleep on the floor of their host’s bedroom and share their bathroom. Please pack a sleeping bag, towel, personal items, a change of clothes and anything you would normally need for an overnight stay. Please keep in mind that on-campus accommodations are limited and only available the Thursday night before a scheduled Campus Visit event.

Please contact  Gennie Alvarez, Admissions Communication and Office Coordinator at least two weeks before to arrange your overnight visit. Occasionally we may have dorm rooms that are available for rent. Please contact Admissions for details. Parents visiting King’s can contact us for information about off-campus accommodations or room rentals.

If I visit from out of town, is transportation provided?

Yes it is. Transportation is available to and from the Edmonton International Airport or Greyhound Bus Station. We are unable to accommodate transportation to or from any other locations.

Does King's offer reimbursement for travel costs?

While King’s no longer offers subsidy for travel to and from campus, we will make sure your meals are covered while you’re here!

Can I meet with a coach from one of King's athletic teams?

King’s coaching staff are happy to meet with interested prospective student athletes. Just let us know that you’re a soccer, basketball, volleyball, or badminton athlete and we can schedule a meeting with an athletics staff member.

Due to the high volume of inquiries, it may not be possible to accommodate all individual requests. Our coaches will give priority to meeting requests from those who have completed the recruitment steps as outlined on their team website. For personal visits or other inquiries please refer to the athlete recruitment page.

Can I talk to someone about financial aid?

You sure can. Our Manager of Financial Aid loves to help students find ways to get free money or figure out the world of student loans. We have arranged a financial aid session as part of the Campus Visit programs. Any questions you have can be asked at that time. If you are booking an individual visit, let us know you’d also like to speak to someone about financial aid.

To book an appointment to meet with the Manager of Financial Aid during your campus visit, or if you just have some questions you need answered, contact Angela Schumuland, Student Accounts and Awards Coordinator. In the mean time, take a look at our scholarships page.
